Pure Silver Bobtail Squid Necklace

This adorable pendant was inspired by the bobtail squid (order Sepiolida), a group of cephalopods closely related to cuttlefish. The piece was carefully hand-sculpted with precious metal clay, torch-fired, oxidized and polished to a mirror finish. It's 99.9% fine silver, with a silver-soldered sterling silver jump ring.

It measures 8.5x14.75mm (0.3x0.5") and comes in a sleek black box with satin ribbon. The necklace includes 42cm (16.5") sterling silver chain, oxidized for contrast.

Bobtail squid have a symbiotic relationship with bioluminescent bacteria, using this ability to mimic moonlight and eliminate their shadows.

Due to the handmade nature of this piece, there may be minor imperfections. May tarnish naturally. Polish gently with a silver cloth to restore shine.
