Crucifix Toad (mini)
This toad was inspired by the the crucifix toad species (Notaden bennettii). It’s cast in hard white gypsum and carefully textured and hand-painted. It measures about 1.75” (4.5cm) in diameter.
Also known as the holy cross frog, this species has a rounded body that waddles more than it hops. They live underground for most of the year in Australia’s arid interior, only surfacing after heavy rains to breed in temporary pools. When startled, they secrete a glue so sticky it can trap bugs and confuse predators. Do they know what they're doing? Absolutely not. Glue first, questions later.
This piece is uniquely handmade, there may be minor imperfections in texture and paint job. The colors may vary from your screen. Each is truly one-of-a-kind!
